Therapeutic Spaces for Children in Sderot:
An Immediate Solution for Emotional Support
This project, in collaboration with Ido Bruno, focuses on establishing therapy spaces for art and cooking for children in Sderot. Aimed at providing an immediate solution, we utilized connected container units, adaptable to schoolyards, to offer tailored environments for therapeutic needs. With 25 schools receiving customized sets, our approach integrates user research and profiling to meet the specific requirements of the therapists involved.

We conducted in-depth user research, focusing on the children's needs and the impact of integrating kitchens into school environments. This process involved exploring how to balance the public nature of these spaces with the need for privacy, creating an environment conducive to individual and group therapy. By engaging with various stakeholders, we ensured the design met the diverse needs of therapists and children alike.

Working under the guidance of Ido Bruno, I played a crucial role in translating user insights into tangible design solutions. From concept development to overseeing the production process, I ensured that the final product faithfully reflected the project's objectives. This included creating detailed sketches, coordinating with architects, and producing visual representations of the concept, right down to the specifications for furniture and spatial layout.

The project is currently in the installation phase across schools, with units beginning to appear in various educational institutions in Sderot. Although the spaces are not yet fully furnished, the latest images reflect this stage of installation.
